~Luca’s Closing~
Hey guys, as grueling as some of those questions were I want to thank you guys for them and I hope each one really helped to guide you with your decision.
I think one of the biggest things that needs to be addressed in this closing are facts. I noticed a lot of “What If” scenarios brought up in a few of the questions and comments and I don’t see how that’s a fair way of basing a Jury vote. If we go back to the start of the game there are a million what ifs that could have played out, but what I think is the most important thing to note is to look at the straight up facts. I may be criticized for having attained a prize at DV or some of my immunity wins may be scrutinized but how does that matter? I won four individual challenges regardless of what anyone says, and I was sent to DV, an assurance I was likeable enough to get there. Anyone can say that luck played a role but each and every one of you could have made the decision to vote me out whenever you wanted. Whether you wanted to make a strategic play for yourself, felt that I was beneficial to your overall game, or you just liked me well enough, none of you were able to successfully execute getting me out of the game, and here I sit. It’s easy to sit back and say what if this happened or what if that happened but the fact of the matter is I am sitting here and I was able to advance to the final three with strategic gameplay.
When you look at my total body of work, I think my game as a whole was balanced. Everything came together to be a complete game. I was strategic when I needed to be, formed social bonds with almost all of you, and was strong competitively. I was manipulative when I had to be, but tried my best to refrain from doing such in a devious manner. I think the balance in my game is what a winner should have, and it’s one of the biggest sticking points as to why I feel I should be the winner of GvsE4. I was the last person standing from my original tribe, a tribe filled with a lot of power players that had they gotten to the end, would have had strong cases as to why they should win this game. I may have had to lie to people at points in the game, but I wasn’t afraid to make bold or risky moves when I needed to or at pivotal moments. An example of this I felt I didn’t get to really touch on in full detail would be the Stephenie vote. I definitely don’t want to take all the credit for this one, since Quincy used his idol to make this play happen, but I remember saying to Quincy at the Final 12 Stephenie was someone who needed to go soon. This is a clear example of setting the stage for the move to happen. When Quincy had sealed the deal on idoling Beau, I knew that once others had found out about it, there was a chance I could go, but having set everything up before the deadline ensured I didn’t. It was a risky play, but one that I think helped get me to where I’m sitting right now.
Each and every round, I put my best foot forward to make sure I was making the correct plays and the correct moves. I never tried to make a bold or risky move unless I felt it was necessary. (Which I felt was on the Stephenie vote, since she was so well connected) The fact that I am sitting here before you guys right now is proof that I was able to make the correct plays during the game. I’m not going to sit here and say I was the best player, or even played the best game, but I do think I played a winner’s game, and would be a perfect fit as the winner of GvsE 4.
With that all said, this has been an amazing journey. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you on the other side of the fence, and I hope you guys vote for me to win. Perry and Vincent good luck to you guys. It was a pleasure playing with the both of you.
